
Carmel Wellso, Director of Research and Co-Portfolio Manager
Carmel Wellso is the Director of Research at Janus Capital Group, a position she has held since December 2014. In this role, she leads the global equity research effort at Janus. Her responsibility is to maintain a powerful and successful investment culture by attracting and retaining strong analysts, managing global research coverage, driving independent research, and collaborating with portfolio managers and the Head of Investments. As head of the Portfolio Oversight Team for Janusí Research strategies, Ms. Wellso helps to oversee the Janus Research strategies, which consist of the best ideas of her analyst team. Since June 2010, she has been a Co-Portfolio Manager on the Janus International Equity strategy. Ms. Wellso served as Co-Portfolio Manager of the Janus European Equity strategy from September 2010 to August 2012. She also worked in the Singapore office of Janus from 2012 to 2014. Ms. Wellso has extensive, global investment experience. Prior to joining Janus as a research analyst in June 2008, she was a partner focusing on global financial services at Standard Pacific Capital. Prior to that, she served as Director of Asian Equity Sales for UBS Warburg. Ms. Wellso also served as an assistant director and Asian banking analyst in Hong Kong with ING Barings Securities where she led consistently top-ranked financials teams. She began her investment career as a credit analyst at MHT/Chemical Bank (JP Morgan Chase) where she focused on Emerging Market sovereign exposures and financial sector lending.
She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature and business administration from Marquette University, her MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and served for two years in the US Peace Corps in Kenya. Ms. Wellso has 22 years of financial industry experience.

Jodi Rolland, Market Executive for Global Commercial Banking
JODI ROLLAND is the Market Executive for Global Commercial Banking, Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the Colorado Market. Here she leads a team of commercial bankers who partner across the bank to deliver the full suite of services including investment banking, credit, treasury solutions, investment management and personal banking to middle market companies and institutions with annual revenues of $50 million to $2 billion. In addition to this role, Jodi also serves as the Bank of America Market President for the Denver Market and the State of Colorado, where she champions the company’s business strategy and brand both internally and externally.
Prior to joining Global Commercial Banking, Jodi spent 23 years with Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management. Most recently she was the Division Executive for Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in the 12-state Heartland Division where she lead more than 870 finanical advisors with $110 billion in client assets and just under $1bl in revenues. Her career at Merrill Lynch began in 1993 as a financial advisor. She has held a variety of local, regional and national leadership positions including the role of Western Division Director for Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management in New York, and Managing Director of the Southwest Mountain Division, based in Denver, Colorado. Other leadership roles have included Complex Director for the Cherry Creek Complex, Director of the Denver Complex, National Sales Manager for the Advisory Division, and Regional Managing Director for the Southern California Region.
Jodi has an extensive background in community involvement. Currently, she serves on the Boards of Rocky Mountain Junior Achievement, the WiseWomen Council of The Leadership Investment, Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, Colorado Bankers Association, Habitat for Humanity Metro Denver and Board of Trustees for Colorado Succeeds.
Jodi has been recognized by several organizations for her impact and leadership in the communities that she has served. Her accolades include the ‘Woman of Vision’ award bestowed by The Leadership Investment, Denver Business Journal PowerBook Winner, Warren Village Corporate Leader Honoree and recognition as the ‘Hot 25’ by OC Metro Business Magazine honoring the most forward-thinking individuals in the county.
Ms. Rolland holds a bachelor’s degree in financial management from the University of North Dakota. She and her husband, Rob Rolland, are the proud parents of two boys (Keaton and Connor) and currently reside in Littleton, Colorado.

Karen Klerman, Principle Real Estate Industry Specialist
Karen Klerman is vice president/principle real estate industry specialist within Wells Fargo’s Business Banking Commercial Real Estate Group in Colorado. She is an experienced professional who works exclusively with commercial and residential real estate developers, owners and operators. She provides financing solutions by originating acquisition, land development, construction, mini-perm, note purchase, bridge loans and swaps, as well as letters of credit for residential, retail, industrial, and office and mixed use developments. Many of her loans involved syndications/participations, and some included New Market Tax Credits. Throughout most of her banking career, Klerman’s book of business exceeded $100 million of loan commitments.
Klerman has almost 30 years of experience in the real estate industry. Prior employers include US Bank, First National Bank of Colorado, Heller Financial, Citicorp, and Sears Roebuck and Company. Karen’s background includes lending, securitization, asset management, property management, and facilities management.
Karen received a bachelor of arts from Northwestern University and an MBA from Wharton Business School.
Klerman is actively involved in the community. She currently serves as Chair of the Board of Commissioners for Boulder Housing Partners (the housing authority for the City of Boulder). She is a member of the ULI Boulder Steering Committee, NAIOPs Rocky Mountain Real Estate Challenge Competition Committee, and the CU Real Estate mentoring committee. In 2013, she won the NAIOP Capital Markets Transaction of the Year Award for the historic preservation and adaptive reuse of the Colorado National Bank Building.

Beth Stenz, Certified Financial Planner
Beth Stenz has been in the personal financial planning industry for the past 9 years. She works at Edward Jones Investments here in Colorado and participates in active leadership and recruiting for the firm's women's initiative. Beth holds the Certified Financial Planner and Chartered Financial Consultant designations. She is a proud CU alum (Class of 2005) and has a 2 year old daughter named Claire.

Elyse D. Foster CFP®, Founding Principal
Elyse is the founding Principal of Harbor Financial Group, Inc. Long before it was fashionable or the preferred form of advisory business, Elyse created advisory services to center around the client by bringing together other professional disciplines for a more effective, coordinated approach to problem solving. Elyse studied Political Science and Economics at the University of Colorado earning a BA in Political Science. She entered the financial planning field shortly after graduation and subsequently earned her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. Elyse was Vice President and Director of Operations with a large financial planning firm and also worked in investment banking and corporate accounting prior to forming Harbor Financial Group, Inc. in 1988.
Elyse enjoys an active outdoor Colorado lifestyle year round as well as photography, dance and travel. Community involvement is also important to Elyse. She is the Vice Chair of the board of directors for the Humane Society of Boulder Valley and is a board member for the Burridge Center for Finance at the University of Colorado Boulder. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Donatella Scanniello, Senior VP and Senior Commercial Banker
Donatella Scanniello is a Senior Vice President and Senior Commercial Banker for Colorado Business Bank. She was previously with JPMorgan Chase as President of the Boulder Market. She currently serves on the Boulder Economic Council, the Women's Council of the Leeds School of Business and is a trustee of the University of Colorado Foundation. She has previously served on the board of the Leeds School of Business, the board of the Mental Health Foundation, the Boulder Chamber Educational Council, the Foundation for Boulder Public Schools and Collage Children's Museum. Ms. Scanniello received her BA degree in Economics as well as her MBA in Finance from the University of Colorado. She resides in Boulder with her husband Mark.

Nancy Meadows, Finance Executive
Nancy Meadows, principal of Boulder Meadows Consulting, LLC, is a finance executive with 17 years of corporate finance experience on Wall Street where she spent her career in investment banking and later financial research. She holds a BA in International Affairs from CU Boulder and both an MA in Near Eastern Studies and Journalism and an MBA in Finance from New York University. Prior to her career in finance, Nancy served in the U.S. Air Force.
Carla Scannielo, Private Wealth Advisor
Carla works in coordinated effort with her team in creating and implementing highly customized, strategic wealth planning strategies on behalf of Executives, Entrepreneurs and Private Investors who require comprehensive and sophisticated investment advice. She is a founding member of The 1550 Group, a five person team based in Morgan Stanley’s downtown Denver, Colorado office.
Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Carla was with J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank where she worked with individuals and families throughout Colorado on developing comprehensive wealth plans. Before J.P. Morgan, Carla worked closely with the CFO in the Corporate Finance group for PetSmart Inc. She graduated with honors in Finance from Arizona State University, W.P. Carey School of Business. She also spent four years representing her university in the Pacific 12 conference as the captain on the Division I women’s soccer team. Carla serves on numerous boards in the community including the Finance Chair for the Women’s Council at the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business, Vice Chair for City Year Denver Associate Board, and member on the Women’s Lung Force for the American Lung Association in Colorado. Additionally, Carla spends her time mentoring undergraduate students at the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business. Carla was born in Boulder and grew up as an avid CU Buffs fan. As a Colorado native, she enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and playing competitive soccer and golf.

Cindy Schatz, Head of Structured Finance
Cindy Schatz is the Head of Structured Finance for Silicon Valley Bank overseeing the loan portfolio for the Central United States, Pacific Northwest and Southwest parts of the country. Structured Finance provides creative working capital solutions and capital to fund growth to innovation companies. Prior to her role in Structured Finance, Schatz launched and ran the Central Private Equity Services Group and was part of the Colorado lending team for SVB, focused on working with technology and life science companies. Schatz earned her BA in Business from the University of Colorado where she was also part of the CU Women's Tennis Team. Schatz is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and has two young girls.
